The 3D printer will be likely be inundated as the term comes to an end - specifically with the final models of not only Second Year, but every other student in the school. Everyone should get a sense of how long their prints will take and when they can start in order to get the project done on time.
Remember that not everything has to be printed on the 3D printer - it is a convenient tool when time is available however it should be used for geometries that are difficult to laser cut or produced by hand. Basic geometries that would be done on another platform should not be 3D printed. Doing so is inconsiderate, lazy, and demonstrates an incompetence in understanding the tool set available.
