Currently, I am working on redesigning my residential floors (allocating more space to the rooms and have less communal space) and figuring out how the pods will work structurally. Additionally I will be looking at how to better my Yonge Street facade condition.
-start providing perspectives in your spaces as you proceed to the final submission as there still is a great deal of ambiguity in some of your spaces (i.e. DMZ office floor, Grad study floor) and the qualities you wish to put together
ReplyDelete-why do your urinals look like sinks? are you using the correct blocks?
-follow conventions; how is it that you have no egress on the second fire stair (east) on the grad study mezzanine?
-if given the chance, people do not try to design with the long side of the bed against a wall; usually you offer clearance on both sides for movement and simply making the bed; you seem to do this on the Gould street units but it falls flat in your south units
-your communal kitchen space looks a bit dark and oppressive but it could be simply because of the plan; perspective might help?
-study area on residential floor is a bit congested
-your elevation needs to be overhauled to reflect more of the triangulation and perhaps less of the vertical elements on the North face; the triangulation on the corner and the geometry inside tends to be at odds with the rather forced vertical components on the north
-the uniformity of structure is a bit deceptive and will likely require a fix with consulting; your roof/basement may also need to showcase the mechanical support volumes
-for the upcoming submission, you will definitely have to look to the structural setup by Foster (diagrid) and possibly Fuksas (Milan Fashion); do not isolate this aesthetic to the corner alone; it seems as though this could be more cohesive throughout the design
-the structure of the pods as described earlier should/could be viewed through the lens of the UofT school of pharmacy; it would liberate your geometry from the box pods you have to something more engaging from the street and interior spaces
