It's not about the money shot - it's about sending a message.
The rendering sets a good benchmark for the interim review. It outlines a clear expression of an architectural idea without having to get too bogged down by the inner workings of the design details. One understands the drama and flare that the designer wishes to encapsulate from the street. Interior imagery for this particular project would really outline the intention of the design which is using the void and cloistered areas strategically to encourage interaction and nurture a sense of community. Everyone should keep in mind that the renderings should offer more than a regurgitation of the physical model. Ideally there should be some nuanced (and in this case, dramatized) dimensions such as lighting, use, context, etc. This image highlights the potential of the design as working with the flash and energy of Yonge Street while trying to simultaneously downplay the visual impact on the Gould Street elevation without compromising the activity along the entire ground plane.
This is a clear representation of the design intent without getting preoccupied with the flare of final renderings. That will come in the final submission.
Keep on working at this level and you will begin a trajectory as a stronger designer. This is meant to be positive. This is not meant to come across as "mean".
Coddling, however does not help anybody in this program.
Nice work Jay
